Guwahati to Host First-Ever Test Match as India Faces South Africa in 2025

Guwahati in Assam will become India’s 30th Test-playing venue when it hosts South Africa for the second Test. The Test match will take from November 22 to 26. The long-awaited event is a milestone in the history of cricket in the region as the city becomes a part of the country’s select list of venues hosting Test matches.

BCCI Announces 2025-26 Home Season Schedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the calendar for India’s 2025-26 home international season on Wednesday. The calendar features two major home Test series against South Africa and the West Indies. Both of these series will be a part of India’s World Test Championship (WTC) matches.

West Indies to Start India’s Home Test Season

India’s domestic season will get underway with a two-Test series against the West Indies. The first Test will be played in Ahmedabad from October 2 to October 6, and the second Test will be played in Kolkata from October 10 to October 14. These games will pave the way for a battling season ahead for the Indian side.

Guwahati Test to Take Place in South Africa Series

After the West Indies series, India will play South Africa in a two-Test series. The first of two test matches which will be played from November 14 to 18 in Delhi. The second Test in Guwahati will be a historic one, providing the northeastern city with the chance to expose its cricketing facilities at the international level.

Following the Test series, India and South Africa will play three ODIs and five T20Is. The ODIs will be hosted in Ranchi (November 30), Raipur (December 3), and Visakhapatnam (December 6). The T20I series will be hosted in Cuttack (December 9), Mullanpur (December 11), Dharamsala (December 14), Lucknow (December 17), and Ahmedabad (December 19).
