BCCI Announces Rs. 58 Crore Cash Reward for Indian Cricket Team After Champions Trophy Win

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has awarded a cash amount of Rs 58 crore to the Indian cricket team as a reward for winning the Champions Trophy 2025. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, India swept the tournament, winning all their games to take their third Champions Trophy title.

India started their Group A campaign with a dominating six-wicket victory over Bangladesh, then another six-wicket win over Pakistan, which booked their final spot. They finished top of the group with a 44-run victory over New Zealand, which paved the way for a semifinal encounter with Australia. India defeated Australia by four wickets before winning the final against New Zealand.

BCCI President Roger Binny showed his pride, saying, “Winning consecutive ICC titles is special, and this award acknowledges Team India’s commitment and excellence on the world stage.” He further said the monetary award celebrates the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and chose to focus on India’s robust cricketing ecosystem, adding that this was India’s second ICC trophy in 2025 after the U19 Women’s World Cup victory.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia praised the team’s performances, stating, “The BCCI is pleased to award the players and support staff with this richly deserved recognition. Their supremacy over world cricket is a reflection of years of toil and strategic implementation.” He added that the win proved India’s number-one ranking in white-ball cricket and set a new benchmark for the team.

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla also commended the team, saying, “This cash award is a testament to the excellent performances rendered by the team during the tournament. The players showed incredible poise under pressure, and their victory is a source of inspiration for budding cricketers from all over the nation.”
