Australia women’s cricket team skipper Alyssa Healy reacted to her husband Mitchell Starc’s five-wicket spell in IPL 2025 on Sunday which made waves on social media. Starc became Delhi Capitals’ first fast-bowler to take five or more wickets in an IPL innings after claiming 5/35 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

Mitchell Starc’s Dominance Against SRH

Continuing his brilliant run, Mitchell Starc made an early impact by dismissing Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy in his second over (third of the match). Recognizing his form, skipper Axar Patel decided to utilize three of Starc’s four overs in the powerplay. Axar Patel’s move proved a crucial one as Starc dismissed the dangerous Travis Head in this third over.

Starc completed his five-wicket haul in the 19th over, removing Harshal Patel and Wian Mulder to wrap up a remarkable spell.

Mitchell Starc on His Bowling Strategy

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Mitchell Starc reflected on the evolving mindset of bowlers.

“There’s no ego in bowlers these days. As a bowler, you got to think out of the box. You need to do things you wouldn’t normally do,” Starc said.

“It was nice to contribute to the win today, we move forward from here. Guys know what I am going to do, so you need to think out of the box. As an older player, you need to find different ways to get batters out. Tried to bowl different balls today, was pretty effective I think.”

Mitchell Starc also spoke about the squad’s fresh energy and how he looks forward to playing alongside new teammates.

“It has been a good day with the ball, in the field, and with the bat. It was a fantastic performance by us today. It’s a new set of players, they have been fantastic. You get to play with new guys, it’s a great group of players. It’s a pretty young group to be fair, looking forward to playing more with them,” he added.
