Hasan Nawaz wrote history on Friday when he became the quickest Pakistani to make a century in T20 Internationals. The 22-year-old batting prodigy scored his century in 44 balls in the third T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland.

Nawaz’s breathtaking knock, including 10 fours and 7 sixes, led Pakistan to a dominating nine-wicket victory, keeping the five-match series on track. His fire-power exhibition booked his place in the record books, shattering Pakistan’s previous fastest T20I century record held by Babar Azam.

Pakistan’s Convincing Chase

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and decided to bowl first. New Zealand had a daunting target of 204/4 set against the Pakistani batting order. But the guests replied in majestic style, undertaking an aggressive hunt from the outset.

Mohammad Haris put the tone with a fiery 41 from a mere 20 deliveries, clobbering four boundaries and three sixes. His aggressive introduction provided Pakistan with the ideal foundation before Hasan Nawaz took over.

Nawaz had a good ally in Salman Ali Agha, who scored an important unbeaten 51-run knock. The two methodically tore through the Kiwi bowling attack, combining for an unbroken partnership to lead Pakistan to a win. Hasan Nawaz went unbeaten on 105, confirming the victory in style with a boundary.

Nawaz’s masterful innings was the pick of the match, but Pakistan’s overall batting power was key to running down a daunting target. With the series still alive, the remaining matches are sure to be edge-of-the-seat affairs.
