The Election Department is set to launch a special revision program for the photo voter lists of 199 assembly constituencies in the state. This initiative aims to include the names of voters whose age will turn 18 on January 1, 2024, and who are currently not listed in the voter registry.
Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that the instructions have been given to the electoral registration officers of the respective assembly constituencies. The claims and objections to the voter list will be resolved by February 2. At the same time, the final publication of voter lists will be done on February 8.
The Chief Electoral Officer has appealed to the representatives of all political parties to get maximum names added with the help of booth-level agents under the revision programme. He said that with the help of BLOs representing political parties, duplicate names and double entries can also be identified and removed from the voter list.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that the work of adding the names of eligible voters to the voter lists will begin. Also, voters who complete 18 years on April 1, July 1 and October 1, 2024, can also apply to add their names. You will be able to apply Form-6 for adding names to the voter list, Form-7 for name deletion and Form-8 for amendment in entries, transfer of residence, duplicate voter ID card and identification of especially eligible people. Gupta also said that by using Form No. 8, voters can register their unique mobile number in the voter list along with their entry.
