Mixed Reactions
Despite the outrage, many social media users argued that the video may not present the full story. One Instagram user commented, “Pretty sure not Brampton. It’s really difficult for a landlord to evict the tenant in Ontario. The tenant can take the landlord to court and basically stay rent-free until it is resolved, which can take months to almost 1.5 years. This could be a case of tenant not adhering to landlord rules, and they were being evicted.”
Another user pointed out the lack of context, saying, “I really miss ‘real’ news channels when I see these videos with no context… Just for people with two sides of opinion fighting it out!” Some users took a lighter tone, joking about the situation, with one saying, “I support landlord,” while another commented, “Indian being Indian, not taking warning seriously.”
