For years, speculation persisted that Princess Diana’s riding instructor, James Hewitt, could be Prince Harry’s biological father instead of King Charles, largely due to the similarities between Hewitt and Harry, such as their red hair and freckles. However, a new memoir has shed light on their relationship, dismissing these rumors.

Richard Dalton, Princess Diana’s longtime hairdresser, has now spoken out in his memoir “It’s All About the Hair.” In an interview with Fox News Digital, Dalton firmly stated, “It’s not possible,” emphasizing that Harry was born well before Diana’s relationship with Hewitt began. He further clarified that red hair is a family trait on Diana’s side, noting, “Harry and the Spencer family have red hair. Charles, Diana’s brother, had bright red hair when he was (in) college.” He also mentioned Diana’s sisters, Sarah and Jane, both of whom share similar coloring.

According to reports, Diana and Hewitt first met in 1986, two years after Harry’s birth in 1984. Dalton also revealed that Diana was deeply hurt by the rumors, reiterating that Harry’s red hair was inherited from the Spencer family.

Dalton confirmed that Diana and Hewitt had a love affair from 1989 to 1991, long after Harry’s birth. Both Harry and Hewitt have previously addressed the rumor, with Hewitt in 2002 stating, “There really is no possibility whatsoever that I am Harry’s father.”

Prince Harry also addressed the gossip in a lawsuit last year, where he wrote, “At the time of this article and others similar to it, I wasn’t actually aware that my mother hadn’t met Major Hewitt until after I was born.”
