Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday announced the launch of a new monthly radio talk show, ‘Kisano Ki Baat,’ aimed at enhancing farmers’ awareness of modern scientific developments and government schemes.

The program, set to begin in September, will be modeled after Prime Minister Modi’s popular ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and will offer a platform for direct interaction between farmers, agricultural scientists, senior officials, and the Minister himself.

Speaking about the initiative, Chouhan said, “On the lines of Modi Ji’s Mann Ki Baat program, the Kisano Ki Baat program will be launched soon. We will start this in September, and the dates will be announced shortly.” The Minister emphasized the goal of fostering better communication and problem-solving for farmers through this platform.

Addressing a gathering of farmers, Chouhan took a humble stance, refusing to accept any personal welcome and instead welcoming the farmers as guests. He remarked, “We will not let ourselves be welcomed; farmers are the guests, and we are the hosts.”

The Union Minister also hinted at an indirect criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating, “These days, some people talk about farmers who have never had anything to do with farming or village life. They try to talk about farming without understanding the realities of the field.”

In addition to the upcoming radio show, Chouhan announced the framing of a national mission on natural farming, designed to promote sustainable agricultural practices across the country.

Earlier in the day, during his Independence Day address at the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised farmers for embracing organic farming and expressed confidence that India could become the organic food basket of the world as the nation advances towards the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
