The prevailing dense fog and cold wave in the northeastern states of the country are now impacting the plains of Rajasthan. Although most districts in the state are currently experiencing dry weather, the presence of moisture in the air is contributing to cold mornings and evenings. It is anticipated that the intensity of fog and cold winds in the state will likely escalate, leading to a further drop in mercury by the middle of next week.

Night temperatures below 10 degrees in 15 districts
Night temperatures in 15 districts of the state have now dipped below 10 degrees. While the daytime temperatures have remained relatively stable, the air’s moisture content has resulted in chilly weather. Some districts have witnessed fluctuations in nighttime temperatures, and despite the sun’s warmth during the day, the cold persists.

Shekhawati region records the lowest temperatures
The Shekhawati region has experienced cold weather in recent days, with fluctuating mercury levels. However, the winter conditions have been milder in the Marwar and Hadoti regions. Last night, Sikar city recorded a temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, Fatehpur Agricultural Research Center at 6.0 degrees Celsius, Pilani at 7, Alwar at 7.2, Sirohi at 8.1, Churu at 7.4, Sriganganagar at 7.9, Sangriya at 6.5, Jalore at 7.9, Jaisalmer at 9.3, Jodhpur at 10.3, Karauli at 7.6, Dabok at 9.4, Anta-Baran at 7.6, Dholpur at 9.8, and Jaipur at 10.02 degrees Celsius.

Mercury drops by one degree in Pink City
Last night marked the second coldest night of the season in Jaipur for December. The temperature dropped by one degree, reaching 10.2 degrees Celsius. The morning cold, combined with atmospheric moisture, contributed to a chilly experience for city residents.

Increased cold expected due to altered weather in northeastern states
Dense fog enveloped northeastern states, including Punjab, UP, Assam, and Meghalaya, this morning, with some places experiencing zero visibility. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 4.9 degrees Celsius today. Meteorologists suggest a potential shift in weather patterns in Rajasthan by the middle of next week, leading to an intensification of winter conditions. With snowfall in the mountains and icy winds reaching the plains, the bone-chilling winter season is expected to commence soon.
