On November 5, Shah Rukh Khan received a death threat and a demand for Rs 50 lakh through a call to Bandra Police Station. The caller, traced to advocate Faizan Khan, has since claimed that he is being framed due to a legal case he had filed against Khan over a controversial dialogue from the 1994 film ‘Anjaam’.
Faizan Khan, a Raipur-based advocate, stated that his phone was stolen on November 2. He filed a complaint regarding the theft and alleged that the death threat made to Shah Rukh Khan was from someone who misused his phone. Khan has denied any involvement in the threat. Faizan, a lawyer from Chhattisgarh, denied any role in the death threat and explained that his phone had been stolen on November 2. He suggested that the threatening call may have been made by someone misusing his phone, insisting that he was being wrongly framed in the situation.

Faizan further revealed that he had previously filed a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan, accusing the actor of promoting religious enmity. The complaint, lodged at Bandra Police Station, was based on a scene from the 1994 film ‘Anjaam’, in which Shah Rukh Khan’s character discusses a deer’s body in his vehicle with his servant. Faizan claimed that this scene incited tension between religious groups. He also suggested that SRK might have ties to suspicious individuals, though he did not provide concrete proof to support this accusation.
Faizan Khan told India Today that he had lost his phone and had already filed a complaint about it. When Mumbai police visited his home regarding the threat call, he clarified that he was unaware of who made the call, emphasizing his innocence in the matter. He mentioned that he was questioned by the police for over two hours and clarified that the WhatsApp linked to his phone was being accessed from a different device. He stated that the call was made using the SIM card of his stolen phone, not via WhatsApp. Faizan also suggested that the police track the phone used to make the threat call, as he was in court when it occurred.

The accused further explained that his objection to a dialogue in ‘Anjaam’ stemmed from the potential for it to cause disharmony between communities. He said he had friends from the Bishnoi community, which values the protection of deer, and felt that a comment from a Muslim character could fuel tension. This led him to file a complaint, requesting a ban on the film and the registration of an FIR.
Faizan Khan claimed that his phone was stolen shortly after he filed the complaint regarding the Anjaam film dialogue.
Mumbai police are currently investigating the death threat received by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The caller, who identified themselves only as “Hindustani,” made the threat. This follows similar threats received by actor Salman Khan from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, related to his alleged involvement in a black buck poaching case.
