On Friday, the Supreme Court issued notices in response to petitions from the Kerala and West Bengal governments. These petitions challenge the governors’ actions of delaying their assent on bills by referring them to the President.
The governments of both states have argued that their respective governors have been holding up eight bills for over a year without providing any explanations.
