In the elections of Rajasthan, many prominent leaders have faced defeat. Leader of the Opposition Rajendra Rathore, Deputy Leader of the Opposition Satish Poonia, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, along 17 ministers of the government, were stopped by the public from entering the Assembly this time.
In such a situation, the veterans are accepting their defeat. However, BJP candidate Satish Poonia, hurt by his loss from Amer, has severed ties with the people and workers of Amer in the future. In a tweet, he wrote, “This time is like a difficult exam for me. However, I am forced to make the decision both situationally and psychologically that I will not be able to serve and give time to the people and workers of Amer in the future. I will also inform the party leadership of my decision and urge them to appoint qualified individuals here to solve the issues.”
It is worth noting that Poonia did not want to contest from Amer.
There were several discussions about changing his seat. However, the central leadership did not give him permission for this. He wanted to contest from Jhotwara or Sanganer instead of Amer.
Not only this, Poonia, expressing his pain in his tweet, also congratulated the victorious Congress candidate Prashant Sharma. He further wrote, “My relationship with Amer is for 10 years. I came here to contest elections at the direction of the party in 2013. I suffered only a defeat of 329 votes in the election…Winning and losing in elections are two sides of a coin. This defeat in Amer is making me think.
It is like a blow.”
