Salman Khan’s memorable dialogue, “Dosti ka ek asool hai madam…No sorry, no thank you,” and his charming chemistry with Bhagyashree are set to enchant audiences once again. “Maine Pyar Kiya,” the beloved classic, is returning to theaters on August 23 to mark its 35th anniversary.

The re-release was announced by Rajshri Productions on Instagram, featuring a collage of photos of the leading stars. The post read, “It’s time to relive their ‘Pyar Bhari Dosti’ as #MainePyarKiya re-releases on 23rd August 2024 in selected PVRINOX Pictures and Cinepolis India theatres.”

Bhagyashree, who played Suman in the film, also shared the news on her Instagram Stories. Fans expressed their excitement in the comments, with one writing, “Maine pyaar kiya release in Jalandhar please,” and another saying, “Thank you so much @rajshrifilms. Waiting to watch it in Bengaluru.” Other fans commented, “My all-time fav,” and “Omg finally.”

“Maine Pyar Kiya,” produced by Rajshri Films and directed by Sooraj Barjatya, was a major box office hit that catapulted its lead actors to stardom. The romantic film, also featuring Alok Nath, Mohnish Bahl, Reema Lagoo, Rajeev Verma, and Ajit Vachani, depicts the journey of Prem and Suman from friendship to love.

Bhagyashree made her film debut in 1989 with this movie, while Salman Khan, although he appeared in “Biwi Ho To Aisi” in 1988, gained widespread recognition through this film. The pair’s on-screen chemistry continued to captivate audiences in subsequent hits like “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” and “Hum Saath-Saath Hain.”

The film’s soundtrack, composed by Raamlaxman, features timeless hits such as “Aate Jaate,” “Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali,” and “Kabutar Ja Ja Ja,” which remain popular to this day and contributed significantly to the film’s success.
