On Thursday, Alka Lamba, the National President of the Mahila Congress, held a press conference at the State Congress Office.
While addressing the press conference she said, “There is a double-engine government in Manipur. In this situation, they are trying to stop Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The Governor, Chief Minister, and even the police administration there want to stop this journey. However, Rahul Gandhi’s journey will start from Manipur on January 14. As much as they try to stop the journey, we will actively go among the people. The journey will pass through 15 states and 110 districts, reaching Mumbai.”
Lamba said, “Inflation is at its peak in the country. People are unable to save. Debt is increasing. Currently, there is also improper behaviour with SC-ST in the country. The government is not conducting a caste census. Workers associated with the BJP IT cell are accused of gang rape, but strict action is not being taken against such offenders.”
Regarding the question of people joining the journey, she said that people who call the number associated with the journey will join, and will be called justice warriors.
Alka Lamba said, “After the Lok Sabha elections, the I.N.D.I.A Alliance government will be formed. After that, the Agnipath scheme will be discontinued. Regular recruitment will take place in the army…Today more than four crore educated youths are unemployed. In such a situation, justice will be done to them.”
Lamba also commented on the Congress’s boycott of the Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav, saying that even Shankaracharyas are not going to the Ram Temple. She said, “The construction of the temple is not yet complete. People of the BJP are deciding who to call and who not to call. The BJP or the Vishwa Hindu Parishad cannot call people in the temple, only gods can call. In such a situation, when Lord Rama’s call comes, every citizen will go.”
Lamba said, “Political people are laying the foundation stone in the Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha program, which is the work of injustice. This work is for Shankaracharyas and learned scholars.”
Lamba said about the Karnapura seat of Ganganagar district that the BJP tried every possible way to win the election. “The candidate was made a minister during MCC.
We complained to the Election Department, but no action was taken. But, the public blessed the Congress candidate and crushed their power.
Before this, whenever such a stalled election or by-election has happened, the party in power wins. But here, the public supported the Congress,” she added.
