Raymond Group Chairman Gautam Singhania recently criticized Lamborghini for its customer service after his new Lamborghini Revuelto, worth approximately Rs 8.89 crore (pre-taxes), broke down due to a complete electrical failure on Mumbai’s trans-harbour link. The breakdown left Singhania stranded and had to tow the car back for assistance. Singhania voiced his concerns on social media, stating that despite his status as a loyal customer, Lamborghini’s top executives in India and Asia—Sharad Agarwal and Francesco Scardaoni—did not reach out to address the issue, which he described as an example of “brand arrogance” and a failure to recognize long-term customer relationships.
“I took the new Lamborghini Revuelto for a test drive and ended up stranded on the trans-harbour link due to a complete electrical failure. It’s a brand-new car—are there reliability concerns?,” said Sighania.
On Lamborghini’s lack of response he said, “I’m shocked at the arrogance of India Head @Agarwal_sharad and Asia Head Francesco Scardaoni. No one has reached out even to check what the customer issues are.”
On loyalty and brand attitude, he said, “It is shocking that the India Head of Lamborghini @agarwal_sharad has not even bothered to make a phone call to enquire what the problem with an old loyal customer is. Is the brand arrogance getting to another level?”
Singhania expressed his disappointment, questioning whether Lamborghini’s reputation for quality was slipping, as this incident was reportedly the third such failure of the Revuelto model within a 15-day period. His social media posts also raised reliability concerns about the newly launched hybrid Revuelto, which integrates Lamborghini’s V12 engine and three electric motors to produce a combined output of over 1,000 horsepower. Known for its cutting-edge technology and performance, the Revuelto has become Lamborghini’s most powerful hybrid supercar, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed above 350 km/h.

Lamborghini has not officially commented on the issue, though this situation has sparked conversations around the model’s suitability for Indian conditions. The Revuelto, launched in India in late 2023, represents Lamborghini’s shift toward electrification with its new hybrid powertrain. Despite its technical advancements, such incidents could impact the luxury brand’s image, especially if issues persist without effective customer support.
