Rajasthan Police launches cyber volunteer Web portal

The Director-General of Police, U.R. Sahu, inaugurated the Rajasthan Police Hackathon 1.0 logo and the Rajasthan Police Cyber Crime Awareness Mission at the Police Headquarters on Tuesday. On this occasion, the Rajasthan Police Cyber Volunteer Portal was also launched. Additionally, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed with five educational institutions for cyber security-related courses.

During the event, DGP Sahu emphasized the need to raise public awareness about cyber security in the wake of increasing cybercrimes. He stated that awareness is crucial for the prevention of cybercrimes and announced the Rajasthan Police Hackathon to be held on January 17th and 18th at the Rajasthan International Center. The participation of the public in the hackathon is being actively encouraged. He highlighted the significant role of cyber technology in investigating common crimes.
MOUs with Educational Institutions:

In a ceremony during the curtain raiser, MOUs were signed with MNIT, V.K. Lakkhipat University, Podar College, Vivekananda Global University, and Global Institute of Technology. Commissioner of Police, Cyber Security, Sudhir Chaudhary, signed the MOUs on behalf of the police department. At the same event, the launch of a web portal to register citizens as cyber volunteers was initiated.

First Drone Exhibition on January 16:

Dr. Ravi Prakash Mehrada, DGP Cyber Security, provided detailed information about the upcoming hackathon. He mentioned that the hackathon would feature advanced technologies, discussions on cybercrime prevention, women and child safety, and a technology startup speaker series. Prior to the hackathon, a drone exhibition will be showcased for the first time on the evening of January 16 at Amar Jawan Jyoti. The exhibition will include demonstrations of drones equipped with various technologies, and drone specialists will present their technical skills. Dr. Mehrada stated that an exhibition would also be organized during the hackathon, and seminars would be conducted in educational institutions.

Participants from 28 States in the Hackathon:

Dr. Mehrada announced that approximately six thousand people are expected to participate in the hackathon, forming 300 teams with three to four members each. More than 1200 individuals associated with cyber technology, including students, institutions, experts, etc., are participating. He mentioned that participants from 28 states will be part of this national-level hackathon. Awards totaling INR 20 lakhs will be distributed across various categories, making it the highest award-winning hackathon in the country.
