The Rajasthan Police is set to elevate the field of cybersecurity with the Rajasthan Police Cyber Hackathon 1.0 scheduled on January 17th and 18th. As a precursor to the hackathon, an engaging drone show is planned at the Rajasthan Police Academy on Tuesday evening.

Dr. Ravi Prakash Mehrotra, DGP Cyber Crime, highlighted the importance of assessing cyber risks, improving cybersecurity situations, and implementing policies, technological innovations, and continuous enhancements to safeguard essential information data from cyber threats.

Before the hackathon, on January 16th at 5 pm, the Rajasthan Police Academy premises will host the city’s first-ever drone exhibition. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the chief guest, will be introduced to various drones equipped with different technologies during the event.

During the Cyber Hackathon, set to take place at the Rajasthan International Center, 1665 participants from various educational institutions, industries, research labs, and startups registered. Approximately 300 teams will engage in a 36-hour marathon to devise solutions to cybersecurity challenges.

Cybersecurity specialists participating in the hackathon will focus on addressing 12 challenges, including developing a feedback system for the police, providing AI/AR training, enabling AI decision-making in rooms, implementing FIR using AI and machine programming, identifying fake websites and upcoming ads, and geotagging privately-owned cameras.

In the final phase, the top three teams presenting innovative solutions will have the opportunity to showcase their work. Cash prizes totalling ₹20 lakh, along with commendation certificates, will be awarded to winners in various categories. Additionally, all participating teams will be included in an internship program with the Rajasthan Police.

Dr. Mehrotra emphasized the growing challenge of artificial intelligence in the future landscape of cybersecurity. Cybercriminals exploit AI for automated cyber-attacks, personal integrity breaches through deep fake technology, and device control through various tools. To combat these challenges, cybersecurity awareness and the incorporation of the latest technology are being prioritized.
