More than 15 thousand complaints of code of conduct violation were registered in the state on the Election Commission-run app ‘C-Vigil’.
Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that all the complaints of violation of the code of conduct in the state are being received on the C-Vigil app, and action is being taken on them within the stipulated time limit of 100 minutes. A total of 15,222 complaints have been received through C-Vigil as of Sunday. Of the 5,757 complaints found to be true, most have been resolved. Investigation and action are being taken on the remaining 8 complaints.
Jaipur leads in complaints
A total of 2,310 complaints have been received in Jaipur district. Of these, 908 complaints were found to be true, and action for investigation and decision is being taken on the remaining 2 complaints. Similarly, in Tonk, out of 1,334 complaints, 817 were found true, and all were resolved. In Kota, 751 out of 1,303 complaints were found true. In Alwar, 161 out of 1,214 complaints were found true.
Keep an eye on code of conduct violations through the app
The Chief Electoral Officer said, “The Election Department is using the C-Vigil app to ensure compliance with the Model Code of Conduct. Citizen participation in monitoring through the app has also increased.” He added that common citizens are making complaints through the C-Vigil application by sending photos and videos of complaints from the spot.
