On the day of voting in Rajasthan, the Congress party expelled five councillors from the Malviya Nagar Assembly constituency and former PCC member Ved Prakash Sharma. Rajasthan in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa issued an order expelling them for six years. These include Councilors Rajula Singh from Ward 130, Karna Sharma from Ward 134, Kavita Chhablani from Ward 127, Abhishek Saini from Ward 140, and Rajesh Kumar from Ward 135.
In addition to this, the former PCC member Ved Prakash Sharma has also been expelled. The reason for expelling all of them is stated to be involvement in anti-party activities and an attempt to influence the vote bank adversely.
Archana Sharma, the Congress candidate against whom action has been taken, was informed of her expulsion responsibility, to which she stated that the party made a one-sided decision, and her side of the story was not heard. In this matter, Archana Sharma stated that she is not aware of the details, and the party may have taken such action based on their feedback.
Former coordinator of the thought department of PCC, Ved Prakash Sharma, stated that Archana Sharma adopted dictatorial behaviour in the last few years. He said, “We have been treated unfairly, although we have always worked for the party with heart, soul, and money. The party’s decision is acceptable, but we will not go to the BJP. If the party recognises our contribution, it would be better. We can remain independent, but we will not work against the party.”
Expelled councillor Karna Sharma stated, “Archana Sharma has always supported wrongdoings. Her audio and video clips are viral, and taking action based on her gestures is wrong. Information about this will be given to Rahul Gandhi, including Ashok Gehlot. We have always worked for the party’s support and have secured votes in favour of Congress until the last day.”
