Rajasthan is set to welcome a new Chief Minister on Tuesday evening, putting an end to the speculations that have surrounded several names since the announcement of the election results. The BJP has convened a meeting of the MLA group at 4 pm at the state headquarters, as communicated by the state president, CP Joshi. The registration process for all newly elected BJP MLAs will commence at 1:30 pm, and they have been directed by the state president to attend the MLA group meeting.
It is worth noting that there were discussions on about 9 names regarding the Chief Minister in Rajasthan. These include former CM Vasundhara Raje, Om Prakash Mathur, Om Birla, former MP and MLA Kirorilal Meena, Baba Balaknath, Diya Kumari, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Union Minister Arjunram Meghwal, and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Now, everyone is eagerly awaiting to see whether one of these prominent faces will be made the CM of Rajasthan for the next five years.
Supervisors to arrive in the morning
The supervisors appointed by BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda will arrive on Tuesday morning for the MLA group meeting. However, Rajnath Singh may arrive by the afternoon due to the program with President Dravida Murmu in Lucknow. Meanwhile, co-supervisors BJP Na tional Vice President Saroj Pandey and National General Secretary Vinod Tawde are scheduled to arrive in Jaipur in the morning.
About 100 BJP MLAs to reach Jaipur
Many MLAs had already reached Jaipur before the information about the MLA group meeting. When the MLAs were called by the BJP headquarters, the remaining MLAs also headed towards Jaipur. Among them, some MLAs arrived in Jaipur late at night, while some will reach early in the morning. However, nearly 100 MLAs have already arrived in Jaipur or its vicinity. Arrangements for the temporary residence of MLAs have also been made by the administration.
Strong possibility of a Chief Minister from the general category
It is worth noting that the BJP has declared an Adivasi and an OBC as Chief Ministers in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. In this regard, there is a strong possibility of a Chief Minister from the general category in Rajasthan. The Chief Ministers declared by the BJP in Chhattisgarh and MP are from the Sangh background. Moreover, those who have become Chief Ministers two or three times are also from this category. Therefore, it cannot be denied that a surprising name might emerge as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan in the MLA group meeting.
Rathore and Kirorilal did not name Raje for the CM position
Meanwhile, many MLAs reached the residence of BJP’s stalwart leader and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday. At the same time, after the news of the support being sought by MLA Kalicharan Saraf from Malviya Nagar came to light, Alaknanda also took it seriously. Former opposition leader Rajendra Rathore also expressed his reaction to this matter. He said that it is one thing for MLAs to go and meet someone, but asking for support by calling someone is not the tradition of the BJP. Kirorilal Meena also gave his reaction to this matter, saying that thinking that Rajasthan will become the CM by besieging MLAs is not possible.
Claim to form the government will be presented in the evening
After electing the leader of the MLA group, it is said that the claim to form the government will be presented in the evening. Along with this, the date for the oath-taking will also be decided. If the oath-taking is held outside Raj Bhavan at a prominent place, it will take about two days to make arrangements. In such a situation, the oath-taking could take place on December 15. Whereas, if the ceremony is held at Raj Bhavan, it could also take place on December 13. However, about 24 hours will be needed for preparations.
