On Sunday, Raj Bhavan hosted a musical rendition of Sundera Kanda (from the Hindu epic Ramayana), a spiritual gathering in the Durbar Hall. Governor Kalraj Mishra, accompanied by First Lady Satyavati Mishra, family members, and Raj Bhavan staff, participated in the devotional recitation.
The musical presentation featured the enchanting narration of devotee Hanuman’s journey to Lanka, his encounters with Vibhishana and Sita, the fiery episode of Lanka’s destruction after presenting Shri Ram’s ring to Sita, and the triumphant return. The verses, couplets, and chaupayas were performed melodiously.
Governor Mishra praised the extraordinary nature of Sundera Kanda. Following the recitation, he, along with family members, conducted a ritual worship and aarti dedicated to Ram devotee Hanuman, extending prayers for the well-being of all.
