On Tuesday, ED and other investigative agencies initiated searches in several districts in Rajasthan regarding Khalistani connections. The investigation focused on locations near the Rajasthan and Haryana border. Simultaneously, searches were underway at more than 30 locations in both states.
According to sources, some time ago, a map went viral on social media depicting the future of Khalistan. The map included Alwar, Bharatpur, Sri Ganganagar, Anupgarh, Bikaner, Falodi, Jodhpur, Bundi, and Kota in Rajasthan. A similar map had surfaced two years ago, leading to prolonged discussions. During that period, central agencies activated their covert wing and conducted searches with the support of local police, sending a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The matter had then subsided. In recent days, when the Canada-India dispute came to light, the Khalistan issue resurfaced, prompting further investigations.
According to experts, Khalistani activities have been observed in Rajasthan in the past, leading to periodic searches. Some time ago, investigative agencies had intensified operations in the Ganganagar district for two to three days.
