They planned to give Dravid INR 5 crores and his coaches INR 2.5 crores each. However, Dravid didn’t want the extra INR 2.5 crores meant for him. Instead, he asked the BCCI to split it equally among all his coaches, like bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, fielding coach T Dilip, and batting coach Vikram Rathore.
A source from the BCCI told the sources, “Rahul wanted the same bonus money ($2.5 crore) as the rest of his support staff. We respect his feelings.” This wasn’t the first time Dravid did this. When he coached the Under-19 team in 2018, he also asked for equal rewards for everyone on his staff.
Dravid’s decision shows his humility and belief in fairness. He believes in giving credit to everyone who contributes to success, not just himself. This makes him a role model in cricket.
