In the murder case of DSP Dalbir Singh in Jalandhar, Punjab, the police have made a breakthrough by apprehending a suspect. Auto driver Vijay, a resident of Lambra, has been arrested in connection with the DSP Dalbir Singh murder case.

According to police reports, Vijay was identified through CCTV footage from a liquor shop near Workshop Chowk, where he was traveling in the same auto as DSP Dalbir Singh when they left their residence. Although an official confirmation is pending, the police have successfully apprehended the suspect based on the available evidence.

Investigations indicate that DSP Dalbir Singh Dayal had dined at his uncle’s dhaba near Workshop Chowk, with the auto driver also present at the scene. CCTV footage revealed DSP with his revolver aimed at the auto driver. Subsequently, the auto driver took DSP from Workshop Chowk. In a state of inebriation, DSP allegedly verbally abused the auto driver, leading to a confrontation and, ultimately, the fatal shooting of DSP with his own revolver.

On January 1st, the lifeless body of DSP Dalbir Singh, an esteemed Arjuna Awardee and former weightlifting international athlete, was discovered near Basti Bawa Khel Canal in Jalandhar. His New Year celebration with friends took a tragic turn as he was found shot in the head on the road leading to Bolton Park. DSP Dalbir Singh, known for his achievements, had to amputate one of his legs due to diabetes. Originally from Kojevwal village in Kapurthala, he was stationed at the PAP Training Center in Jalandhar. Notably, he had been involved in a controversial incident on December 16th, firing at villagers in Maksoodan, which was later peacefully resolved through negotiation.
