Sukhchain Singh, a resident of Billi Baraich Malsiya, has been apprehended in Dubai in connection with an accident case. The local court has imposed a substantial penalty of approximately 50 lakh rupees on him. Failing to settle this fine might result in the announcement of a death sentence.

Accompanied by Sant Gurmej Singh, Sukhchain’s family in Jalandhar disclosed that he had traveled to Dubai in January 2019 to alleviate financial constraints and had returned to India to visit his family in November 2021.

Upon returning to Dubai in December 2021, he commenced work as a driver. Unfortunately, an incident occurred where a Pakistani national lost his life under Sukhchain’s vehicle. Since then, the entire family has been distraught. Following his arrest, the court imposed a hefty fine of nearly 50 lakh Indian rupees, with the consequence of a death sentence looming if the fine remains unpaid.

Sukhchain is the sole provider for his family. Gurmej Singh mentioned that Sukhchain’s father had passed away due to various reasons earlier, and his mother, Ranjeet Kaur, survives on government pension. The family has no land or assets to sell for Sukhchain’s relief. They emphasized Sukhchain as the last earning member in their family.

However, the family faces financial constraints, despite Dr. MP Singh providing financial aid of 5 lakh rupees. Thus far, the family has managed to accumulate only 8 lakh rupees towards the penalty.
