Commissioner Secretary of Science & Technology, Saurabh Bhagat, took the helm at a public darbar convened at the Town Hall in Kupwara today, marking a significant step towards engaging with local communities for grassroots development.
In the interactive session, the Commissioner Secretary engaged extensively with participants, listening to their concerns and feedback regarding government schemes and initiatives in their respective areas. Assuring swift action, Bhagat pledged to escalate the raised issues to the relevant authorities for prompt redressal.
“Public darbars serve as a vital link between the administration and the people, facilitating accelerated growth and development in districts,” emphasized Commissioner Secretary Saurabh Bhagat, underscoring the importance of such outreach programs.
Highlighting the rapid pace of development in Kupwara, Bhagat expressed optimism that the district would emerge as a top performer not only in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir but across the nation.
In his address, Bhagat also shed light on the significance of e-governance initiatives, citing the role of online government services in digital transformation and citizen engagement. He emphasized that these services, numbering 1200, have significantly enhanced accessibility, efficiency, and convenience for citizens, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices.
Furthermore, Bhagat commended the LG’s Grievance Cell for its pivotal role in addressing people’s concerns promptly and transparently, fostering trust and accountability in governance. During the darbar, DDC Chairman Irfan Sultan Panditpori and Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan presented various issues and development initiatives for consideration.
The Commissioner Secretary also took the opportunity to inaugurate three projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and community facilities in the district, including the construction of a food store, a community hall, and a tile path.
The event saw the participation of various dignitaries, including VC DDC, DDC Drugmulla, representatives from traders and transport associations, along with district and sectoral officers, underlining the collective commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development in Kupwara.
The public darbar concluded with a reaffirmation of the administration’s dedication to incorporating public inputs into actionable plans, ensuring that the aspirations and concerns of the people remain at the forefront of governance agendas.
