In Jaipur, Rajasthan, protests erupted across the state on Tuesday after the assassination of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the president of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena. In Churu, supporters threw stones at a bus and blocked the roads. A demonstration also occurred outside the Metro Mass Hospital in Jaipur.
Additionally, a market shutdown was enforced in Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan. After the stone-pelting incident on the bus, the situation turned chaotic, prompting the police to intervene and attempt to restore calm.
Protests began around 5 PM in Churu district after Gogamedi’s death, leading to road blockades in various areas. In Sudulpur, near Chainpura Bada village, Karni Sena activists staged a roadblock on NH 52 for about half an hour. Protests also occurred in Alwar, where supporters gathered outside the Metro Mass Hospital, blocking roads and burning tires. The police attempted to negotiate, but the road remained blocked.
In Kumbhalgarh, the Vyapar Mandal closed shops in protest, and a demonstration took place by Karni Sena activists, leading to a road blockade. Following the incident, police arrived to resolve the situation.
Notably, Gogamedi’s supporters also gathered in Kumbhalgarh around 5 PM, creating disruptions in the market. The ongoing protests reflect the anger and demand for action against those responsible for the murder.
