Former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, criticising its handling of law and order in the state. Addressing the media at his residence in Jaipur, Khachariyawas expressed concern over rising incidents, such as people driving under the influence until early morning, leading to tragic fatalities like the recent case of a girl being crushed to death.

He claimed that while such unfortunate events unfold, the Rajasthan government is seemingly occupied with aerial travel in helicopters, metaphorically referring to it as a prolonged honeymoon period.

Khachariyawas recalled the promises made by the BJP during the assembly elections, where they emphasized addressing the law and order situation in the state. He accused the BJP of winning the elections through falsehoods, fraud, and divisive issues like Hindu-Muslim relations and temple-mosque matters.

Highlighting the more than 25 days that have passed since the new government assumed power, Khachariyawas questioned the BJP’s commitment to its promises on law and order and corruption. He asserted that the current administration seems ineffective, urging them to fulfil their duty of protecting the citizens, even though his party is no longer in power.

The former minister drew attention to specific incidents, such as the attack on an elderly woman in the capital, emphasising the lack of arrests in such cases. He criticised the government for failing to apprehend individuals responsible for serious crimes, including the recent tragedy involving the death of a girl. In a sarcastic tone, Khachariyawas commented on BJP leaders being welcomed with garlands despite their alleged shortcomings.

Khachariyawas also raised concerns about the delay in the formation of the cabinet, questioning the government’s ability to handle critical matters. Regardless of the cabinet’s status, he emphasized that the Chief Minister and two Deputy Chief Ministers must be accountable for addressing pressing issues, particularly the recent murder of a daughter of Rajasthan.

In a direct call to the Chief Minister, Khachariyawas demanded answers and action, urging transparency and responsibility in handling the state’s affairs.
