Rani Mukerji once had deep feelings for Abhishek Bachchan, son of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. However, reports surfaced that his mother disapproved of their relationship, criticizing Rani for being too loud and arrogant, and advised Abhishek to distance himself from her. Following his mother’s wishes, Abhishek ended his relationship with Rani and later married Aishwarya Rai, who did not invite Rani, their former close friend, to the wedding.

Reflecting on her absence from their wedding, Rani stated, “Only Abhishek can throw light on that. The truth is that if a person chooses not to invite you to their wedding, you realize where you stand with the person. You may be deluded and think you are friends but maybe the friendship was only restricted to being co-stars on the sets. It doesn’t matter. It became very clear and evident that we were only co-actors and not friends.”

She also mentioned, “Moreover inviting someone to a wedding is a personal choice. Tomorrow when I decide to get married, I will choose the handful of people I want to invite. A lot has been blown out of proportion. Poor guy has been married for many years, we should all move on. I will always have fond memories of working with him.”

Amidst ongoing divorce rumors surrounding Aishwarya and Abhishek, their separate appearances at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding have fueled speculation. The couple, married since 2007, welcomed their daughter Aaradhya in 2011. Aishwarya recently charmed everyone with her daughter’s respectful gesture at the SIIMA awards, where Aaradhya greeted Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar by touching his feet instead of shaking hands.
