Vinod Tawde Demands Apology in 24 Hr From Congress, Threatens Rs 100 Cr Lawsuit

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinod Tawde has issued a legal notice to Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Supriya Shrinate, demanding an apology within 24 hours for allegations linking him to a cash-for-votes scandal. The notice threatens a defamation lawsuit seeking Rs 100 crore in damages if the apology is not forthcoming.

The controversy began when Congress leaders accused Tawde of distributing cash to influence voters in the “Nallasopara case.” In response, Tawde’s legal notice asserts that these allegations are baseless and have tarnished his reputation. He has demanded a public apology and the retraction of the statements.

The Congress party has yet to respond to the legal notice. This development adds to the ongoing tensions between the BJP and Congress, especially in the context of recent elections.
