Reports of explosives being found near a Donald Trump rally in Long Island, New York, have been dismissed by local authorities as “unfounded.” Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder clarified that no explosives were found at the rally site. He added that a person was being questioned after allegedly training a bomb detection dog near the site, and this individual had falsely reported finding explosives.
The incident raised concerns given the heightened security around Trump, especially following two recent assassination attempts. Just days prior, a suspect was arrested at Trump’s Palm Beach golf club, fueling speculation about the security breach.
According to reports, during a security sweep, an explosive device was supposedly discovered in one of the vehicles near the rally. The driver allegedly fled into the woods, adding to the tension. However, these details were not confirmed by the authorities.
Earlier, Trump had survived two assassination attempts, with one incident occurring in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a shooter was killed on the scene. Another attempt was made at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, where a gunman pointed an AK-47 at the former president but was neutralized by Secret Service agents.
