Thomas Chazhikkadan, a Kottayam member of parliament, announced that the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) will reopen by the end of this year. He claimed to have received a letter from Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar informing him of the choice. Following a report by the Central Public Works Department on February 14 which highlighted the various safety concerns regarding the building where it operated, the PSK’s operations in Kottayam were suspended on February 16 of this year.
