Paraguay has officially become the 100th country to join the International Solar Alliance (ISA), marking a significant milestone in global efforts towards renewable energy adoption. Today, Paraguay handed over its Instrument of Ratification during a meeting at the national capital, New Delhi, with Ambassador Fleming Raul Duarte and Abhishek Singh, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs.

The ISA, launched jointly by India and France during COP21 in Paris, aims to accelerate the deployment of solar energy technologies worldwide. It plays a crucial role in advancing energy access, ensuring energy security, and supporting the global energy transition in its member countries.

Conceptualized during COP21 in 2015, the ISA operates as an action-oriented platform driven by its members. Currently, 119 countries have signed the ISA Framework Agreement, with 100 countries now confirmed as full members through the submission of their Instrument of Ratification.

The alliance underscores its commitment to bolstering the objectives of the Paris Climate Agreement by facilitating large-scale solar energy projects and fostering collaboration among member nations.

With Paraguay’s accession, the International Solar Alliance (ISA) continues to expand its global footprint, uniting nations in the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions to combat climate change and promote economic development.
