The Baloch Yakjehti Committee, a leading human rights organization in Pakistan, has highlighted the ongoing military operations, raids, violence, and enforced disappearances targeting Baloch people, allegedly conducted by Pakistani military forces.

In a post shared on X on Wednesday, BYC pointed out that the areas of Ganz and Panwan in Jewani, Gwadar, had been “sieged by the Pakistani military forces launching a brutal operation.” The post further alleged that Pakistani forces surrounded the towns, raided homes, harassed civilians, and forcibly abducted over 18 individuals from the Baloch community.

The BYC identified two of the abductees as Sajjad, son of Wajul, and Zareef, son of Shakeel, who were taken near Ganz Hotel. The other abductees’ information is yet to be received. However, some were reportedly released. The BYC said that Shahjan Shahdad, Hassan Aziz, Sameer Abdul Hameed, Imran Mohammad, and Zaheer Imam are still missing.

The BYC, joined by the families of victims across Balochistan, organized widespread protests earlier on Wednesday demanding justice for Zareef Umar, who was recently killed, and Naveed Hamid, allegedly murdered by Pakistani security forces, according to The Balochistan Post.

Protests began in Turbat with a major rally at Fida Chowk, near a camp set up by the victims’ families and BYC members. Women and children joined the march through the city’s main bazaar before gathering outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Protesters carried placards and chanted slogans, calling for justice for Umar and Hamid, as well as an end to human rights violations in the region.

The BYC, in its post on X, said: “Military Operations are a daily routine in Balochistan where each day Baloch are tortured, disappeared, killed and dumped. Military operations and enforced disappearances are mere tools of ethnic cleansing of the Baloch. Baloch Yakjehti Committee appeals to the global community and HR Organizations to find their voice and speak against this genocide.”
