West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that no inquiry was initiated against the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) even though it was involved in a lot of injustice. She also slammed the BJP over a protest it held near her residence with the body of a BJP party worker on Thursday.
The Trinamool Congress leader and the state CM said that the BJP government at the Centre has targeted the TMC by using the CPM, Congress, and ED-CBI. She said, “How many years have the CPM done politics in Bengal? 34 years. CPM has done so much injustice. Has there been a single CBI inquiry and ED case on them? Not even a Congressman. He touched P. Chidambaram but did not touch the top brass. Who is left out of our party? The top brass fights with the honesty, fearlessness, and courage that have attracted everyone to our party. Our party is not being spared. Our phones are being tracked through Pegasus.”
Banerjee said, “I heard a worker of BJP had died months after the elections. Such deaths are always unfortunate. They came with the body near my house. Several people were killed in Assam over NRC. Don’t you have any shame? There is no law in the BJP’s rule.”
