The Karnataka government issued circular outlawing poultry farming on agricultural land

The use of agricultural land for poultry farming is excluded from land conversion, according to a circular released on Monday by the Karnataka government.

The judgement was made that, according to Section 2-(a)(1)(d) of the Land Reforms Act of 1961, raising poultry is considered “agricultural.” The farmer may apply to the District Collector for approval to convert all or a portion of the agricultural land for any other purpose under Section 95(2) of the Land Revenue Act of 1964, which deals with the use of agricultural land for other purposes.

According to the source, a preliminary proposal for this was still pending because it was made by the minister of animal husbandry, Prabhu Chauhan, a long time ago.
