BHOPAL: In a shocking case that has come to light from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, a case of drinking sanitiser for intoxication has come to the fore. Interestingly, people were only reaching out for a particular brand of sanitiser named Tiger. After a rebuke by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the district administration raided the premises and recovered illegal liquor was caught but ‘Tiger’ was nowhere to be found.
Upon receiving a complaint, the police and excise staff also searched medical stores and a Sanchi parlor, but could not find that particular brand of sanitizer. When India News talked to the medical store, the shop operator admitted that he used to sell colourless sanitiser of Tiger brand earlier, but now he has stopped selling it.
In comparison to country made liquor, Tiger sanitiser was available for Rs 30 to 50. In addition to being cheap, the sanitiser has high alcohol content due to which people started drinking sanitisers for cheap intoxicants.
