The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sexual harassment of two minor girls at a Badlapur school has submitted charge sheets to a special POCSO court. The first charge sheet was filed on Monday, followed by the second on Thursday.
Both charge sheets, each over 500 pages long, target the same set of accused, including Akshay Shinde. The SIT alleges sufficient evidence against them, including multiple witness statements, technical and medical evidence, and extrajudicial confessions from the accused.
Crucial evidence includes the victims’ identification of the accused during a test identification parade and their statements recorded before a magistrate. While the school’s CCTV footage was unavailable, the footage from a nearby camera installed by the Badlapur Municipal Corporation proved valuable.
