During his address to the gathering, Mayor Kuldeep Kumar outlined the key aspects of the renovation plan. The civil work will primarily focus on revitalizing the flooring in the main dining hall, corridors, rooms, and kitchen area.

To enhance convenience for the public, attached washrooms will be constructed in consultation with an architect. Waterproofing treatment will be applied to the roof and toilet block, and the main hall will undergo modifications to make it echo-proof with improved aesthetics. An open kitchen will also be constructed for public use, and the existing toilets will be renovated.

Mayor Kumar highlighted the inclusion of new plumbing fixtures and the construction of inspection chambers and manholes to ensure proper disposal of grey water. The electrical work encompasses rewiring, installation of light fixtures, ceiling fans, and split AC units to enhance the overall electrical infrastructure and functionality of Janj Ghar.

Emphasizing the significance of Janj Ghar as a community center, Mayor Kumar expressed the Municipal Corporation’s (MCC) commitment to providing the best facilities and amenities to residents. The renovation project, extending beyond structural improvements, aims to enrich the overall experience for visitors.

Area councilor Daman Preet Singh welcomed Mayor Kumar and other dignitaries to the program, emphasizing the careful planning of the renovation work by MCC to address public needs. The project’s goal is to create a modern and accessible space for everyone to enjoy. Daman Preet Singh stated that the project is slated for completion by January 2025.

The Janj Ghar renovation project reflects the municipality’s dedication to enhancing communal spaces, fostering a sense of belonging, and catering to the evolving needs of the public. The planned improvements, encompassing structural, aesthetic, and functional aspects, aim to transform Janj Ghar into a modern and vibrant community hub.
