Amidst this, Congress is gearing up to create another controversy regarding the selection process of candidates during the Lok Sabha elections, under which applications for tickets are being sought from contenders even for the seats of current MPs.
There is no guarantee that those who will try to get tickets for the seats of current MPs will support those MPs again as candidates by the party in the future, leading to a possible loss for Congress. This decision to demand applications for tickets on the seats of current MPs could prove to be a risky deal for Congress, as indicated during the meetings conducted by Pradesh Prabhari Devendra Yadav regarding the Lok Sabha seat-wise meetings held in Amritsar, Ropar, which have already seen unrest.
