Punjab on alert as intelligence agencies warn of terror attacks 

Intelligence agencies have issued an alert of a terrorist attack in Punjab on New Year. According to sources, it has been told in the alert that at the behest of ISI, many terrorist organizations can execute attacks with the aim of spreading terror in Punjab. There is information that apart from court complexes, DC office, SSP office, police stations, government offices can be targeted. Following the input, security has been beefed up at major places in Punjab. More than 2000 jawans are deployed in the security of government offices. 

Mohali is on high alert 

The police force is set on alert by 24 hours. Special blockades are placed during the night. Vehicles are being checked by police at every entry-exit point of Mohali district. According to intelligence information, a high alert has been issued in many districts of Punjab. After the terrorist attack input, the Mohali police have also geared up. No high police officer is ready to say anything in this regard. However, the district police has appealed to the public not to pay heed to rumours. About 20 days back, information about the attack on Saneta Chowki was received. After this, Ropar Range DIG Gurpreet Bhullar held a meeting with the SSP and SHO and directed to increase the security of the police stations. Along with this, along with increasing patrolling, strictness was also increased at many points. 

Mohali Police has tightened security around the court complex, DC office and sensitive government offices. Patrolling has been increased at all sensitive places and additional security personnel have been deployed at busy markets, railway stations, bus stands and airports. Security increased by dividing the entire district into 41 zones Mohali has been divided into 41 zones and PCR patrolling is continued by 24 hours in each zone after the information about the terrorist attack. After this input Punjab Police deputed 28 new PCR vehicles in the fleet on Wednesday. A total of 25 zones are formed in Mohali city, six in Zirakpur, four in Kharar, two each in Mullanpur and Derabassi and one each in Kurali and Nayagaon. 

In each zone, one PCR vehicle will be on the road at all times. Police will also be present on the National Highway passing through the city so that the fear of police remains intact among the criminal minded infringed elements.
