Poonch attack: Special forces teams, drones, choppers deploy to destroy terrorists’ intentions

Five soldiers were killed following the terror attack on troops in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch the previous day. A massive manhunt was launched by the Indian Army on Friday to catch a group of around six to seven terrorists who were responsible for gunning down the soldiers.

“The Army and security agencies have got the information that 6-7 terrorists were operating in two groups in the Rajouri-Poonch sector near the area where the tragic incident took place.

This terrorist group attacked an Indian Army vehicle on Thursday in the Poonch sector, killing five soldiers.

The Indian Army has launched numerous operations in response to the capture of terrorist organisations.

Multiple special forces teams, drones, and observation helicopters have been rushed to the area in order to carry out search and destroy operations there, according to the sources.

The actions are being coordinated by the security forces, which include the Army, Police, and Intelligence Agencies.

The terrorists are thought to be Pakistani and members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as per the sources.

“More information concerning their entry point into the area is being determined.” There are numerous cave-like natural structures in the vicinity, so a thorough search is being done there, said sources.
