JAIPUR: In recent times, the police have carried out many significant operations against gold smuggling gangs in the state. On Thursday, a major Police Operation was organised against a gold smuggling gang in Jaipur. The gang is associated with the 5600 number plate network. Yesterday, it was busted by the police. Many key members of the 5600 gang were found to be affiliated with gold smuggling activities. The case came to light when Irfan Khan, a resident of Jhotwara, started importing gold from abroad, which would later be looted, and the suspects would go into hiding. The accused individuals were known to use luxury cars and expensive phones. Police are currently investigating individuals linked to this gang.
