The “PM Vishwakarma” scheme to help traditional artists and craftspeople in rural and urban India was approved by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday. On Tuesday’s 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the country from the Red Fort’s ramparts and announced the commencement of the program.
The project has a budgetary outlay of Rs 13,000 crore, according to Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, who briefed the public following a meeting of the union cabinet. Under this program, lenient terms would be applied to loans up to Rs 1 lakh.
