PM Modi applauds Sachin Tendulkar’s Kashmir visit, advocates ‘Make-in-India’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently lauded cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring the importance of exploring different facets of India and promoting indigenous manufacturing.

Tendulkar, along with his family, embarked on a snowy sojourn to Gulmarg and other parts of Kashmir, documenting his experiences on social media. Impressed by the region’s scenic beauty and warm hospitality, Tendulkar shared glimpses of his trip, which caught the attention of PM Modi.

Expressing his delight over Tendulkar’s visit, PM Modi took to X to commend the cricket legend’s journey, highlighting two key takeaways for the youth: the exploration of diverse destinations within India and the significance of “make-in-India” initiatives in fostering a self-reliant nation.

Tendulkar reciprocated the sentiment, emphasizing the rich diversity and cultural heritage present in India, particularly showcased during his Kashmir excursion. He lauded the “make-in-India” ethos exemplified by Kashmir Willow bats, symbolizing quality craftsmanship that resonates globally.

Commencing his trip in Gulmarg, Tendulkar visited a cricket bat manufacturer in South Kashmir, later retreating to the serene environs of Pahalgam’s Pine and Peak Hotel. Notably, he engaged in a friendly cricket match with soldiers and locals at the Kaman Post near Aman Setu in Uri, fostering camaraderie and sporting spirit.

During his visit, Tendulkar also met Amir Hussain Lone, captain of the Jammu and Kashmir Para cricket team, extending his support with a personalized signed bat, thus celebrating the spirit of inclusivity and sportsmanship.

Tendulkar’s Kashmir escapade not only showcases the region’s allure but also serves as a testament to India’s rich tapestry of culture and craftsmanship, resonating with PM Modi’s vision of a vibrant and self-reliant Bharat.
