Media welcoming association hosts Haryana event, aids Journalists’ causes

Media Welcoming Association’s Northern India President Chandra Shekhar Dharani revealed that a statewide program under ‘Make Paei’ (Haryana Tourism) is scheduled for January 11th. The event will host Haryana’s Transport, Higher Education, and Mining Minister, Mool Chand Sharma, as the chief guest, State Minister Sandeep Singh as the ceremony’s chair, former Minister Vipul Goyal as the special guest, and guests of honor including MLA Nayanpal Rawat, MLA Mati Seema Trikha, and keynote speaker Rajiv Jetley (Media Advisor to Haryana CM). Other attendees will include Jyoti Sang, Chair of the Welcome Committee, and distinguished journalist-author-literary figures.

Chandra Shekhar Dharani mentioned that the Media Welcoming Association is extending support to Anil Kumar, a journalist from Ambala undergoing kidney transplant surgery, with a financial aid of 1 lakh, Anil Mohaniya, a journalist whose car was set ablaze while covering an incident on July 31st, 2023, with 30,000 from M.W.B. Organization, and journalist Narendra, whose wife underwent major surgery, with assistance of 25,000. Financial aid is also being provided to several other journalists. In the past, aid has been extended to nearly 8 lakh journalists. An appeal is also being made to the government for assistance in the cases of these three journalists.

In the past, financial aid has been provided to several journalists and their families. The government is periodically approached at various levels concerning journalists’ protection, security, and social issues. In memory of deceased senior journalist Ramesh Sharma from Chandigarh, an award in his name is being initiated for contributions to the field of service in the journalism world. The year 2024’s award will be conferred upon senior journalist and editor Yadram Bansal, which will be awarded annually to a journalist from Haryana.

Chandra Shekhar Dharani mentioned that under the Media Welcoming Association (registered), a significant event is scheduled on Friday, January 11th, 2024, at Haryana Tourism in Magpai, Faridabad, at 11 AM. During the event, the association will distribute free accident insurance policies worth 10-10 lakhs to 201 journalists and will also organize a seminar on ‘Digital Journalism and Media Ethics.’
