40 campaigners list of BJP for Karnataka Poll
The BJP released a list of 40 campaigners for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections for which the BJP has exerted full might to return to power. Main names in Bharatiya Janata Party including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and party president JP Nadda among others featured in the party’s list of star campaigners for the 10 May Karnataka assembly elections.
The other big names from the Centre which will seek votes for the party in BJP’s include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister Smriti Irani and others.
Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also feature in the list. The chief ministers of BJP-ruled states including Karnataka’s Basavaraj Bommai who is seeking a second term, Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath, Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma, Madhya Pradesh’s Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will campaign for the party. Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai, former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, KS Eshwarappa who resigned electoral politics also feature in the list.
JP Nadda holds a roadshow at Shiggaon alongside CM Bommai and actor Kiccha Sudeep
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda today held a massive roadshow in Karnataka’s Shiggaon district ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai, Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep and other BJP leaders are present during the roadshow. People jammed the roads and flapped BJP’s flag during the roadshow.
Earlier in the day, JP Nadda held a breakfast meeting with senior leaders of the party at MLA Aravind Bellad’s house in Karnataka’s Hubballi ahead of CM Bommai’s filing of nomination.
CM Bommai will officially file a nomination from the Shiggaon Assembly constituency today for the upcoming state elections. He has been holding this seat since 2008.
The roadshow comes ahead of his son BY Vijayendra’s filing of nomination from the Shikaripura Assembly constituency today.
Congress turncoat Jagadish Shettar filed his nomination today from the Hubli-Dharwad-Central Assembly constituency. Jagadish Shettar’s resignation from BJP and his joining Congress has made Hubballi-Dharwad Central a main clash in the assembly polls. Shettar, a six-time MLA, signified the seat in the outgoing assembly and was keen to be given a ticket from the constituency.
The 224-seat Assembly will go to polls on 10 May, and the votes will be counted on 13 May.
