JNU gears up for Ramayana lessons

The JNU will organise a live session on the leadership lessons from Ramayana at the university amidst the Covid-19 pandemic which has engulfed the entire world. The online session will be held on 2-3 May from 4 pm to 6 pm, which will be beamed live on video sharing platform Zoom. The event is being organised by School of Sanskrit & Indic Studies and School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies. The aspects which will be covered during the event are morality-based judgments by leaders in events of crisis; trust building among teams; creating teams and investing in team; doing win-win strategic partnerships; and communication & critical thinking.

Speaking to The Daily Guardian, JNU Vice-Chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar quoted Mahatma Gandhi’s statement in Harijan (1946): “To me…Rama is the all-powerful essence whose name, inscribed in the heart, removes all suffering—mental, moral and physical”. Kumar said: “The words of Mahatma Gandhi are the inspiration for us to organise the webinar on “Leadership lessons from Ramayana”.
