“One Earth, One Family, One Future” signals the need for unity of purpose as well as the unity of action,” says PM Modi while addressing the Foreign Ministers at G20.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi addressed the meeting of Foreign Ministers of G20 through a video message today, March 2. While addressing the gathering, the PM Modi underlined why India chose the theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” for its G20 Presidency.

According to the Prime Minister, the theme signals the need for unity of purpose as well as the unity of action. Furthermore, he expressed the belief that today’s meeting will reflect the spirit of coming together for achieving common and concrete objectives.

Modi remarked “India’s G20 presidency has tried to give a voice to the Global South,” as he hinted that no group can claim global leadership without listening to those most affected by its decision.

He furthermore underlined that today’s meeting is taking place at a time of deep global divisions. Throwing light on thousands of lives who lost in natural disasters and disastrous pandemic that the world has recently  faced Modi noted how global supply chains have broken down during time of stress and turmoil.
