INC Punjab gears up for worker convention ahead of elections

Indian National Congress President and the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge will be visiting Punjab’s Samrala on 11th February to head the Punjab Congress’s first ever worker convention.
In a statement released here it was informed that, “On the directives of PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring press conferences were held in every district of Punjab today to disseminate the information about the upcoming convention of Punjab Congress.”
Divulging more details the statement further said, “This is the first ever Worker’s Convention that is being organised by Punjab Congress, as till now no other PPCC President was able to complete the entire body of Punjab Congress upto booth level committees. It just goes on to showcase the hard work of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring that he has been able to complete the entire structure after only taking over as the president 2 years back.”
The statement further said, “Under the leadership of President Raja Warring, CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa and other senior PPCC leaders the party has successfully prepared the body of Punjab Congress by making 2145 mandal presidents and 24570 mandal committee members, 289 block presidents and 8959 block committee members, 29 district presidents and 2675 district committee members. The PPCC President also holds a meeting with the district presidents on the second tuesday of every month to take feedback from them. Not only that, regular meetings are held by district, block and Mandal Presidents every month to strengthen the party at the ground level.”
Crediting the collective PPCC leadership for the upcoming convention the statement further said, “It is only due to the hard work of Raja Waring, Partap Singh Bajwa and other senior leaders, that the National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji is reaching to meet the workers and office bearers of the Punjab unit. This convention will give the Punjab Congress a lot of strength at the grassroots level and this kind of encouragement of the workers will be very beneficial for the party before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”
